Sticking Ignition Button

Question

The button that you push to light the refrigerator is sticking, especially after a month of non-use. Is there a lubricant that can be used or solution to this problem? I have to pull it out with pliars after pushing it in. If I use it more frequently, it loosens up.

Heavy duty silicone spray lubricant is safe. But I don't know how effective it will be. At least it is dirt cheap.

I would clean the traveling area good. Could spray with brake clean. Then use a good quality silicone spray. Make sure the ignitor end is free to move that it is not binding.

Brake clean may harm the plastic.I would use CRC Power Lube, it's safe for most plastics and it improves electrical properties. I have found it to be a very effective product with many uses!
