Limited lifetime warranty which the company since it's sale last spring is enforcing much more strictly than used to be the case. Those also recommending the hard wire version are conveniently neglecting to mention that Progressive spells out quite clearly in it's limited lifetime warranty that the unit must be installed by a "qualified" RV dealer, otherwise the warranty is void.
To the OP - you want to understand what you're buying and why, not just buy something because forum pundits tell you what's best without explaining why. :R Do yourself a favour and read this recent discussion and this one on the subject of Progressive Industries EMS units, damage, and warranty issues. Enlightening. ;)
