Honda R&D is looking at the next version of the EU2000i. They are interested in the 12V charging feature, and have a few questions. Please take a moment to complete this quick, 3-question survey, and you can help guide Honda to make improvements. Thanks!

And that's because in a "dead battery" situation, 8 amps ain't worth hookin up !

That's what people who haven't used an EU2000i to charge/start a car with a dead battery sayโ€ฆ.
I have used mine a dozen times or more... That ($12) charge cord is worth its weight in gold!
I'd rather have a usb and cig lighter sockets.

The cig'-socket and USB ports would need to be voltage regulatedโ€ฆ which means additional cost. Not to mention the fact that a 100cc gasoline powered generator is the least efficient method I can think of to charge portable electronic devices.

I want 100w at 120v and the full 1000w at 14.5 volts ๐Ÿ˜‰
Anderson power connector would be fine and I would pay extra for an autostart feature.

With a dead battery and no other charging source, I'd think that an 8-amp source would be wonderful. The jumper cables I carry are just as useless because I haven't used them in 20 years. Just insurance for unforeseen circumstances.

x2 for cig lighter socket

If I ever had a need to charge large, dead batteries, I wouldn't want the $300-500 cost of a smart charger built into the generator, I'd buy an ac powered high frequency charger separately.

It would be great if they had a smart charger with higher amperage (30-50 amps), and can potentially use a lot more of the generator's output.

I remember ordering the accessory cable for the 12v charging feature right after I bought the 2000 about 10 years ago, thinking it would be useful at some point. It's still in the factory bag in the the TT's toolbox, has never even been plugged into or tested.

Only if you have the EU 2000. Nothing else.
