The Home Depot is my new Amazon

I got fed up with Amazon handing off their UPS shipping to the USPS for the 'last mile' delivery to my house. The post office does not deliver to my house, so I have to drive many miles to pick up even the largest and heaviest packages.

HD has comparable prices, fast delivery to my house and some RV supplies. FYI.

I do live in the middle of nowhere, way out in the boonies but considered in the Raleigh metro for some unknown reason.
Amazon can't be beat. Even out here a lot of stuff is next day. I do like Home Depot a lot for their staff over Lowes.

For me anything delivered beats visit to the store during these times. As long as the delivery is free. All big box stores have now added a substantial amount of online-only items, i.e. they don't have it but order from the US distributor when you need it. Amazon have gone further yet, they are now not much different from Ebay or Aliexpress - some guy in China sells you something via Amazon, higher prices than Ali and same 6 weeks wait.

Home Depot in Mexico sucks for hardware and a lot of electrical stuff. But when I shop carefully in the states, I can buy contractors lot boxes of 20-amp duplex receptacles at a good price. But drills and hobby saw stuff are knee knockers. A hoe in Mexico costs around sixty DOLLARS. The head is heavy and sharpened to cut tufts of weeds.

I am going to need a small wagon to haul sacks of groceries from the trunk to the freezers and refrigerators. No dirt or steps. Does this really call for a hundred dollar wagon?

I don't live in the middle of nowhere. My Amazon orders come in a day or two. I just checked, so far this year we have placed 67 orders with Amazon. The last few were swimming trucks, cloth adhesive tape, a surf caster's tackle bag, fishing line, and ear buds. With Prime we do not bother to consolidate orders so even small items are shipped separately for the same price.

Needless to say, none of those items were available at Home Depot.

I would drive 10 miles and pick up the stain. If you go in person you know what you are getting and not something picked/shipped by a new employee who thinks all stains are the same.

What? If I order a gallon of CWF someone will send me a gallon of ACE Wood Royal? Come on man lol. I have gotten what I have ordered 100% of the time no matter if it's paint or a pair of underwear.

If you order underwear, make sure you specify no one is wearing them.

How could anybody order underwear? Man or women is not allowed?

Sorry Home Depot doesn't even begin to compare to Amazon when it comes to on line shopping.

I don't buy my underwear at Home Depot so I can't comment on it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Perhaps you're thinking of Walmart groceries where they have the option to substitute...or you allow them to. I don't think it works like that at HD.

When you order Home Depot home delivery, you don't just call them up and say "Hey, bring me some stain", you choose the exact brand/color you want online. The worse experience I've had is when their website says a product is available, but when the pick your order, it's out of stock and deleted.

Yeah. They've been really prompt about delivery. That's the one thing that drives me nuts.. waiting days and days for something to ship. Tried buying a generator from the White Cap company. What a joke that was.

They should have my spiffy new miter saw here in 3 days.
