which digital thermostat would be compatable with my 2004 Coleman Mach a/c & propane furnace? My old mech one has drastic swings. Found one on Amazon #8330-3362 but don't want to buy till I know it will work. Thanks for any tips provided.

which ever one you get, go for the illuminated face when you are using it. I learned the hard way bout fumbling around in the dark. The illuminated face when used is the cat's meow.

Nothing wrong with the Coleman Mach Digital except the price!

$25 for Hunter available at Walmart/ACE Hardware/Lowes etc.

Or $50---$70 for the Coleman via Amazon etc. plus shipping

I like items that work and are low cost

I installed a Honeywell programmable in my 5er. The same one I have at home. I only wired the AC fan on high. I can't see using low if I need AC. But I like it cooler.
I have it set pretty cool at night, but warming up before we get out of bed in the morning.

Similar anyway. The old type Duotherms will be hard to find in future, so will be forced to get the digital kit eventually I suppose. Could be the same with the old style Colemans, no idea.

Perhaps there is something about it on their website.

Hunter Douglas for about 25 dollars at WalMart. The battery powered one is a great upgrade on the cheap. I understand there is also a Lux model that is powered by a couple of AA batteries. There are instructions all over the internet for connecting the HD version. Be sure to also pick up a mini SPST toggle switch for around 3 dollars at Radio Shack to allow the AC two speed fan feature.

Mine is a Coleman Mach. Is that the same as duotherm?

For the Duotherm old ones, the replacement involves putting a digital "kit" up in the air conditioner to go with the new type thermostat. About $150 just for the parts.
