Tiny metal flakes coming down from ceiling?

I have a recently purchased '91 Tioga Class C. On a couple of occasions we have driven it over a rough gravel road and after stopping we find a fair amount of very tiny rusty ferrous metal flakes that are coming from a seam between two of the ceiling panels over the cab bed near the drivers side wall.

There is a trim strip over the seam but the flakes are definitely coming from there as you can stick a pipe cleaner under it and flush some more out.

Any ideas on where this is coming from and what to do? There is absolutely no water damage on any of the ceiling panels so do I assume it is a relatively small water leak? Also is there steel structure up there? I was under the impression it's all wood framing.

That is a seam. The flakes are from them drilling into the steel tube for screw holes to make the seam. Its common and you would be in shock if you got into many of the places you can not see and could see what they did not clean up when building one of these motorhomes.
