TO ALL: One Big Thank You!

I think it bears repeating that when some of us can massage an old Trojan back to close to it's formal level of health, due to learned proper recharging methods, and get a few more years out of it with some gentle prodding and massaging charging techniques and methods, with devices tweaked to our own engineering standards, with information gleaned from the contributors of the board here, it's a win, win, win situation. The folks that make that win, win, win possible, the team players with "on the ground" and engineering backrounds know exactly who they are.

Posting up and reading makes people curious to go and do things, instead of just sitting back and fiddle and tweak with gauges and meters with colorful red and blue lights on them. It motivates them to overcome inertia.

I have been the recipient here of much electrical knowledge, I thank all that have helped my forward progress along the way. It's been fun.

Experience is important, but I think a good engineer is like a 3 legged stool, technical knowledge, experience, and creativity. Mex adds a fourth leg which is humor which sometimes causes the stool to rock as I don't always follow his humor. But I appreciate the knowledge, experience, and creativity from Mex and others on this forum. My first set of Trogan batteries lasted only 4 years my Sam's club batteries have lasted 8 years with the maintenance advice from you guys.

A quorum nucleus in a tech forum is "where it's at" and not just a single person. IMHO we have all learned a lot, and if an effort is made to continue with the education, especially of folks who want to learn, it brings rewards. Not financial. More valuable - it feeds the psyche knowing efforts resolve problems. This forum has been on "The Right Track" for some time now. I really enjoy kicking back and reading information taught correctly about batteries. And you'd better believe I have learned as well. The reward for a teacher is to see education at work. So all of us can share in the reward. :)

You have not helped me in any way...as of yet but all the reading I have done on this forum leads me to say thank you for all the info that you have posted. I'm sure there are many other people who have read your posts and profited from them. It's always a good thing to have people who help others post their ideas, fixes etc. So again I thank you.

I appreciate a mentor that encourages one to think for themselves. Some of your posts, with their "grasshopper" type of style... do just that. Of course, I am grateful for all the battery knowledge that you've passed down. I've tried to pay back where I could... but it's hard when I am without some of the formal engineering educational backround.

The ammo can charger is a good idea, but if your Mexican brethren think it contains, 7.62 or 5.56mm fodder, you're not long with keeping it intact, complete with all the wires hanging out of it. Someone could mistake it for a Rube Goldberg IED

I doubt I'll ever be able to repay you for all the help and knowledge you've bestowed on me, gramps. The best I can hope for is to pay some of that forward and maybe save you some of the trouble on the next "young" RV-er that needs some help.

But rest assured... you've made a friend here. And if there's anything I can ever do for YOU... don't hesitate to ask.
