Travel trailer battery

If I had the room, I would have put in two 6 volt golf cart batteries. They would have been the relatively cheap Sams Club variety.

Unfortunately with all the stuff on my tongue, and the shape of the front of my TT, I couldn't put two batteries on the tongue. So, I bought a larger battery box to replace the Group 24 box, put it on the tongue, and bought a Group 31 battery, also from Sams Club.

I used Sams Club because they are "relatively" inexpensive, and there are lots of Sams Clubs across the country.

I loved the stupidity of J.C Penny, with their "Forever" battery. Last I heard, a friend of my brother was on his 11th free replacement. That's been quite a number of years ago.

But I was many days south of the border and someone was kind enough to bring it on down. A Mexican LTH that weighs 10 pounds less, costs the same and has a one year exchange.

Sounds like you're looking for a cheap solution. Then any battery from Costco or Walmart or any battery shop, that says "deep cycle" on it, will do. Could a pair of 6V in parallel, or could be a pair of 12V. Whichever way you'll get the needed capacity @12V with fewer dollars. Yes, Rolls are better, if you are prepared to pay more.

You nave to "step up" to a Crown or Rolls battery to top the Johnson Controls Wal-Mart battery.

I bought mine at Batteries Plus. When it is time to replace it, I'm going with the 6volt batteries.

Get a Walmart Deep Cycle (DC) 27 and call it good.

The WM deep cycle/RV/trolling motor batteries (mite still be DC-6) are fine batteries for your use. Its only the WM haters that have a problem w/ them.
