Trolley/Cart for Lance Camper

I've been offline a while. We may need to dismount our 2005 Lance Model 880 and move into covered storage. Any recommendations for a trolley or cart that is designed for moving the camper after it's off the truck? Ready-made, or your own designs. Thanks!

    Hi DG,

I have also been thinking about this for a truck camper. If I had a good cart to hold the unit I believe I could store it in a large garage and thereby avoid the cost of building a pole barn. Unfortunately, I do not have the door height to back a truck into the garage and unload the camper in the traditional fashion.

The Lance dealer in our area is http://www.kramerskampers.com/ . They have units which they use for indoor display of truck campers and for moving them around within their showroom. They are essentially a ruggedly built frame made from square tube affixed with caster wheels. I just have not had the occasion to ask them about where they come from. It is certainly possible that they fabricate them on site.

If no other leads materialize you may want to call Kramers and inquire. Thye are great people to work with.

  • I am doing exactly the same. I just purchased a 16ft boat trailer with a 3500lb axle. Going to deck it tomorrow. My dolly is 2-fold. One is a place to store it and move it around the camping lot we own without using my big dually. It is only a Palomino popup, so our side by side can move it. Second, we want to be able to use the camper on the camping lot since it stays there without having to load it after getting there. I also plan on building a storage box for the front of the trailer to store chairs and other camping gear for the camping lot.

We have a 24ft older 5'er and mainly use that for the 4 wheeling camping lot we own. I can get 12-14mpg with the popup on my dually, so when we want to go somewhere, we take the popup, plus we can take the atv's if needed.

I will post pics as I make progress.
