- jfkmkExplorerThe silicone also prevents the o rings from drying out and leaking.
- rvtenExplorersilicone NO oil.
- Don___CarolynExplorerWe replaced our antenna this summer. The directions that came with it said to lubricate it every four months.
- janechucknicodeExplorerA) Why do you have to oil it?
B) If you are going to lubrcate it in any way, get on top of your unit with a spray can of silicone from your local auto store.
C) Silicone doesn't gather dirt like oil/WD40 ect.
D) Spray the joints and wipe up all excess with a rag ? or best T shirt you have on. :B
Also please wear gloves and safety glasses,And have some one inside atempting to slowley raise and lower the antenna while you are doing the spraying a little at a time.
AND BE CAREFUL up there.:E
