We replaced our antenna this summer. The directions that came with it said to lubricate it every four months.

A) Why do you have to oil it?
B) If you are going to lubrcate it in any way, get on top of your unit with a spray can of silicone from your local auto store.
C) Silicone doesn't gather dirt like oil/WD40 ect.
D) Spray the joints and wipe up all excess with a rag ? or best T shirt you have on. :B

Also please wear gloves and safety glasses,And have some one inside atempting to slowley raise and lower the antenna while you are doing the spraying a little at a time.
AND BE CAREFUL up there.:E
