- Dick_BExplorerDon't know. Never had to change one. Heard too many times that they don't reseat after testing so we don't test.
- You do not need to buy a Suburban releif valve. Most hardware stores have the 1/2 inch valve with the same specifications.
Verify pipe size! It could be 3/4 inch
Amazon - wa8yxmExplorer IIIIf it id 1/2 inch IPT threads (iron pipe thread) as the other responder said any hardware. I have spare that size myself. but any hardware Nothing special.
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIT&P Relief Valve is a standard 3/4" valve with 4" probe 210*F/150 psi

I fought with a dripping valve for years. Then I quit messing with the valve and now it drips no more. - HadEnoughExplorerAny valve will work if it has the same rating and thread size.
- HondavalkExplorer IIIf you have lost the air pocket in your WH the valve will drip because as the water heats up it will expand. It needs the air pocket for expansion.
- LJAZExplorerI just did this a few month's ago. Here's what I bought:

The one I removed, which was the original, was the identical Cash-Acme valve. Hondavalk wrote:
Small expansion tank works as a permanent solution and no more messing with the T&P valve.
