My water heater will not run on 120v power or propane gas.
Has anyone encountered this issue.
Thanks. Rick

It's always helpful for others, if you posted what the fix was.

I did not know water heaters had a "storage switch." At least none of the water heaters in my 6 RVs I have owned over the years had a "storage switch."

Wow, nice replies. First time in a forum.
Filled with water. Installed brand new batteries.
Ran water pump till it purged all the air out of the system.
I have checked all the breakers and fuses. Found one blown fuse.
I plugged into 120 v power. It still will not fire.
Oh, both propane tanks were filled before I started. Loosened the gas line at the water heater. You could hear and smell the propane.
I haven't worked on it today. But I have things to check now.
Thank you all.

A year ago I killed my water heater by attempting to run it with no water in the tank. I burned up the electric heating element, and even the propane gas fire stopped. Nothing would get it running again on either gas or electric. I did end up taking it to my RV repair shop and they fixed it. They put a new electric heating element in it, AND a new thermostat. Turns out, I destroyed the thermostat by running it with no water.

Could be a bad thermostat preventing either gas or electric from turning on.

Just a basic question here, but are sure you have water in the tank? I'm a seasoned camper, years and years with my TT and even my parent's TT as a kid. It only took one ... "DUH!" moment or "Senior Citizens" moment to forget ... oh C R A P! I forgot to fill it with water!

If its any consolation to you, one of the easiest problems to fix, is when "nothing" works,....in this case, if you are armed w/ a volt meter or a test light

It has to have 12 volts to work at all. Check that first.

Check to see if you have 12 volt power to the control panel.
