Water Pressure Issue

I have terrific pressure in the bathroom and terrible pressure at the kitchen sink regardless if I am using the pump from the fresh tank or hooked up to city water. Its the same for both hot and cold.

Suggestions?
  • To quote my 4 year old daughter, "wow, that was it??"

Yep, it was totally the screen. Works like a charm now. :)

    Thank you guys.

Clogged screens are very common; clean the screen first as suggested.
  • As always, details like pullin teeth !
Did it always do that ?
Did it start that suddenly ?
Did it come on over time ?

I replaced a faucet last week,...very little water flow till
I removed the screen defuser and found a restricter washer w/ an 1/8" hole in it.

Oh jeez, if it's that, I'm an idiot.

This is one of those cases where you MUST report the final outcome and findings, hehe. :)

That may be true whether it's the problem or not...LOL :) just kidding..

You could also have a flow restrictor in your faucet. Some can be taken out others cannot.

    Good luck.

Be sure to test run both hot and cold with the screen OFF.

If the flow is still low, look under the faucet cabinet for other filters.

Since both hot and cold are affected, the problem likely is in the faucet itself. If not the screen then a new faucet might be required.
  • During construction some manufacturers are not good about cleaning the freshwater system and little pieces of construction debris is left in the system to float around until it gets caught in the filter of the faucets and shower head. For the first several years it's common to end up with clogged filters/screens.

Another cause is city water or well water... The pumps can suck up small particles of sand. Or the water will contain calcium/lime and clog the screens.

It may or may not be the problem. But, always start with the easy, simple things first.
Let us know when you find the cure.
