Water tank leak?

Getting ready for the season...new prob. I seem to have a minor leak in my water tank, or in the tubing that leads to the tank (where it gets filled). After filling up I notice that there is dripping leak near the drain valve. Unfortunately it's not the valve. It seems to be traveling down the outside of the tank to the low point. Or it's from the actual process of filling.
I suspect that it's either high up on the tank or part of the plumbing because when the tank is half full or so it doesn't seem to leak.

Aside from pulling down all of the undercover to totally expose the tank, what are my options? Sound like something worth messing with?
  • After purchasing, I used my 5th twice.
After parking from the second trip, I noticed the familiar coraplast 'bulge'.
Long and short I took the unit to the tech. He drained the water, it was fresh, i.e. no odor. He discovered a leak at the city water inlet. Tightened the fitting. No more leak. (Water was traveling to the lowest point).
Yeh, it was an expensive 'wow, that didn't take long'.
But he did inspect the mounting for all the tanks and took pictures for me.
  • If it's a leak in the tank and not a hose try this stuff:
    plastic repair
You'll have to have room to get a torch in there to warm it up a little. Watch the video in the link.
Hopefully i't just a hose connection.

look at the safetyy relief valve ,they are a known leak .

I think the OP is talking about the fresh water tank. No relief valve.
  • I hear ya....just a daunting project to consider right now. The covering underneath would take a lot to detach.
Going to see if it has stopped in the morning. Use that to help determine if it's in the plumbing or the tank itself.

    Thanks
  • If it were me i'd want to know where the leak is coming from. Might just be a loose clamp, but doubt it's going to fix itself. Whether from above our below, a water leak is not your friend.
