Due to some shoddy work from a previous owner I now find my water tank has a couple of small holes in it. They were caused by the tank shifting and coming in contact with a couple of sheet metal screw...

JB weld makes an adhesive for water, I would try that first. I never had much luck or skill with melting material and filling holes. Shoe Goo is another glue that bonds well to most materials. I would sand and solvent wipe the area to be bonded first. As a last resort I would use a screw with a small o ring under the head an screw it into the hole.
