what's the best converter to replace a cs2000 in an Aliner?

This afternoon, my husband opened up the cs2000 converter in my 2000 Aliner. We were trying to find out why the converter was not working and recharging the new marine battery. We found that it had a component that had burned up. So basically it's fried.

I'd like to add a fantastic fan with automatic sensors to the camper, so I don't mind upping my amps.

I have no idea what to buy or where to buy it??? I'd love your suggestions...
  • +2 on BestConverter.com. Randy will talk to you about your rig and help you get the right converter.
  • The CS2000 is a 20 amp converter. As far as I know, it is a single stage converter. If you are happy with the way it has performed then almost any modern converter will be a step up. If you frequently camp without electric hookup you will probably prefer a 3 stage smart converter, it will charge your battery much faster. There are several manufacturers, I have a Progressive Dynamics PD9260 but there are many different models.
  • How many batteries do you have? Any plans to add more?
A 1000w generator is limited to about 40 amps into a battery if that matters.
Or are you mostly plugged in? Because a FF is virtually nothing extra if plugged in.
IMO ~20 amps per battery is plenty even if batteries can accept more during the initial charging.

    +1 for bestconverter.com
  • Go to best converter and look around. If you have any questions call them and talk to Randy. He's very knowledgeable and a big help!
I have no affiliation with them, just a happy customer!
    Good luck,
