Windwalker Generator

An interesting article on Wind generator for less than most generators. Also very quiet!

Windwalker Generator
  • A buddy of mine bought one and thought he had it made. Until the wind came up, and it vibrated and shook so bad it sounded like an airplane taking off. He had it secured to his rear ladder. No way to carry enough cable, pipes and related parts to set it up on the beach. He sold it cheap when he got home. Buyer beware. Chino

    WORTHLESS.

At 8 MPH it will barely give you MILLIAMPERES, as a general rule there is very little power to be had BELOW 10MPH CONSTANT WIND.

That 250W is at 30V, not 12V so once again even if you managed to camp in 30MPH winds you MIGHT get a couple of amps perhaps 50W.

Who the heck would want to camp in 30MPH winds?

At 15- 20 MPH winds I AM heading for a sturdy building.

20 MPH winds will bend a light duty mast into a pretzel so you are going to need to carry some very sturdy pipe.

Then you will have the noise, ALL wind gens MAKE NOISE when facing winds, these small short blades WILL sound like a small airplane landing above your head when facing enough wind to charge.

One must ask the question.. Do I REALLY feel safe having these blades spinning a couple of feet above the flimsy roof of a RV?

Then there is the times that you have no wind or a couple MPH winds, winds tend to not be steady or predictable.

Wind gens also need clear open unobstructed area, trees, buildings and even your RV will cause turbulence which tends to reduce how much wind will be available..

There is a ton of marketing hype which is misleading and or false in the name of catching YOUR MONEY...

If you are going to waste some money, spend it on solar panels which will give you RELIABLE power during daylight hrs.
  • Absolutely no information anywhere that gives actual output of unit. Looks like a waste of time and money.
