Here's my new TV.. picked 'er up in Colorado yesterday. Parked near a pickup for comparison.
I've been drooling over these rigs for years. It's a 2008 Freightliner Sportchassis M2 106, Cummins ISC 8.3L, not sure which tranny (it's huge), brand new Michelins, 53k miles, super clean, nice storage bins, trailersaver air hitch, air everything, Jake brake.. lots more.
Did a lot of homework including the new Ram or GMC pickups (which are pretty nice), and an HDT. This one seemed to stand out as the right one for me. The air seats are so comfortable I drove 340 miles (at mostly 75mph bobtail) today and was hardly aware of it. I couldn't even imagine going that far (or fast) in the old 450. I don't know my mileage yet as I was not successful in fully filling 2ea 50 gallons tanks. So much to learn.
So far a couple things I don't like:
a) Wind noise. Seems to be coming from the upper door frames. I don't think any air is actually leaking, and the seals look fine.
b) A/C. Struggles to keep the cab cool enough on this 90+ degree day. I'm comfortable enough as long as I don't stop and let the cab heat up. Then it takes awhile to cool down, and it's running full bore all the time.
Can't wait to get home and lash up the 5er which just got new shackles. Dang this is getting to be an expensive hobby!
