Here's my new TV (gray).. picked 'er up in Colorado yesterday. Parked near a pickup for comparison.
I've been drooling over these rigs for years. It's a 2008 Freightliner Sportchassis M2 106, Cummins ISC 8.3L, not sure which tranny (it's huge), brand new Michelins, 53k miles, super clean, nice storage bins, trailersaver air hitch, air everything, Jake brake.. lots more.
I used to drive an M2 style like that...a 2007 with a Cat engine. The company I worked for had 8 of them. They were constantly known for needing a condenser. The condenser is down low and in front of all the other coolers. They would get pin holes from road debris and start to leak. Some slow over time, and others would stop working abruptly. Once the condenser was replaced, it was ice cold in the cab.
The doors on the older m2 trucks with 250-300k on them made the noise you speak of but the new ones were quiet, at least for the first 100k. Then after a while you could start to hear wind flutter noise as you hit bumps etc. Maybe opening and closing the door wears out the alignment over time?? These were flatbed tow trucks and they were opened and closed hundreds of times per day.
Pic of my rig...
