VIDEO: Maximum Head Cooling Ford 4.6L 5.4L 6.8L Triton Engines
I got a MMR, Modular Motorsport Racing, rear of the heads coolant crossover kit to help keep the engine cooler and create a second path for coolant to get to the water pump. The problems all started last April, 2024 on our way to Arkansas for the Solar Eclipse at Lake Dardanelle. Refer To the Water Pump Failure / Over heating video dated during April 2024. WE installed a new water pump and coolant hoses to the heater core but the problems to progress and get worse throughout our trip. Coolant leaking out, oil getting into the coolant. When we got home, I decided to pull the heads and change the head gaskets and install several performance upgrades. During disassembly, I noticed a chunk of the intake manifold in the right side crossover for the coolant and thermostat system had broken out and the large thick O-Ring seal was blocking a significant amount of the coolant passage through the crossover. I now suspect that we did not have a water pump failure, I think the missing piece of manifold broke off and got sucked into the heater hose, blocking coolant from going through the system and back into the water pump. That is an advantage this rear of head coolant adaptor will help eliminate. The rear crossover will provide a second path of return to the water pump so no such blockage should ever occur again. The rear of head coolant crossover adaptation kit could be a great benefit to anyone who installs it. This video will help anyone like me who has heads that don't have the existing mount holes the kit is designed for. I show you haw to make your own adaptor mount hardware. Hope this video helps you, thanks for watching, please do leave a like and subscribe for more of my content. Always fun and useful.
