What did you do to your truck today?

I love cruising through the "what did you do to your camper today" thread, I figured I'd add a "what did you do to your truck today".

I'm sure that many of you are like me....and your truck that you use to haul your camper gets a lot of special attention to make sure it's in tip-top shape for your adventures.

I'll start out.....

Today I mounted 2 PIAA 520 Fog lights and 2 PIAA Driving lights to my winch bumper, and aimed them.

This evening, I received a box containing torklift stableload bumpstops. Those will have to wait for another day....we've got a blizzard going on here.

Finally weighed it! Unloaded with almost full fuel and two people it weighed in at an even 8700 pounds. Much more than I thought it was going to for a SRW RAM 3500 MegaCab CTD shortbed. I'm guessing with the camper and loaded for a trip I'm going to be at 11,500+. We've been out twice with it all loaded and you can hardly tell the camper is on it with everything stock. I love this truck!

Installed a rear view mirror w/backup display. I had been using a small display mounted on a suction cup w/gimbals behind the mirror, but the suction cup would come loose at the most inopportune times and I was never quite able to angle the display properly.

I liked the compass and outside temp display so I didn't want to go with one of the displays that clips over the mirror but an OEM mirror with display was over $450. The OnStar and the truck's cell service both expired at the end of the trial so I didn't need those so when I saw this mirror from Tadi Brothers I had found my solution.

This is showing the passenger side camera. Kind of hard to tell the way I'm against the bushes. You can just see the white front jack leg. I can also switch to the rear view backup camera using the toggle switch you can see on the upper console next to the passenger air bag alert.

Yesterday as I was putting the plow away the truck blew a transmission line, so it got a nice ride on a flat bed to the the Transmission shop here in town, they're going to fix all the lines plus fluid and filter change and repair a linkage for the 4x4 $900.00

Next trip will be about the same GVW but the GCW will increase. Cruise control set at 55-60 mph over the mountain pass works for me...

You do realize we're gonna expect a full, detailed review of this rig?:)

I unloaded my camper.

I first loaded it March 20.

Since then I'v spent 21 nights camping. ๐Ÿ™‚

All has been good until my water heater died on my last trip out. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Did an oil and filter change with Amsoil AME 15w-40 and bypass filter. Also installed a new Amsoil Air Filter.

Loaded the camper and went to my granddaughters track meet so we would have a warm place to wait in between events. Works great for all kinds of day tripping. Nice to have your own restaurant and restroom.

They were about $400.00 with the springs and install kit.

How much did those run? I've got some tired out springs. This would make me happy again.

Neglected it some more. Weather's been suck, need to change the oil and replenish the aging fuel.
