'17 Super Duty passenger seat belt warning

On a recent outing with the new truck we noticed that no warning lights or chimes happened when the front passenger seat was occupied and the belt unfastened. I was thinking a service appointment was in order, but when I checked the manual it speaks of the driver's side only. Is this really the case? Hoping someone can confirm. Thanks.
  • My '17 Super Duty chimes (and warning lights) only for the driver.
  • My DW just noticed on our "13 F-350 pass., belt stop chiming on our last trip. I'll ask w/ next oil change. Last coupon, guess I'll get used to doing it myself again.
  • Both my old Superduties were driver only. My Ram 1500 is the first vehicle I've owned that had both driver and passenger seat belt warnings.
  • Dad's "new" 2015 Chevy 2500HD does not issue any sort of warning when the passenger is not buckled in.

However my 2015 Chevy 1500 flashes the red seatbelt light and starts chiming soon after if the passenger is not buckled in.

It may have to do with the different classes of vehicles. At one time passenger airbags were not required on Class 2b and up light trucks, so that may be a factor.
  • I have found most vehicles that I have driven or have been in do not chime for the other seats. Good thing for me as I usually have 50 - 100lbs of camera gear on the passenger seat when nobody is sitting there, or if I am shooting many times the passenger will not be buckled in when we are shooting.
  • cant confirm but that is the way our 01 works, no chimes on passenger seat.
