- PAThwackerExploreryeah give up on the 4 positives/ minimal grievances of a hybrid bh and move up to true bunkhouse TT for super cheap, and suck up the challenges.
The 31 BHS does not have a heated or enclosed lower body (exposed frame rails, tanks) and i am not gaining any advancements on the winter camping front. - fx2tomExplorerI think if you were to swap the gears on the Burb you would be more than fine on towing the new one. Sounds like a pretty good opportunity, even with its challenges
- PAThwackerExplorerMy father, lifelong camper, currently has a prevost. His one remark: "put it on a seasonal site and give up weekend towing/state parks".
- PAThwackerExplorerI winter store the hybrid at my parents. Hard covered storage, zero worry, no snow load, and priceless option.
- PAThwackerExplorerThe 2500 sub has plenty of payload 2351lbs, and shoddy 7600lb rating based solely on the 3.73.
A full gear swap is affordable if i get the TT at super low distressed private party purchase. They are losing their property lease, and do not have any way to move the camper. - PAThwackerExplorerThe 31bhs is a 9000lb gvw, typically 7800lb loaded wet.
- PAThwackerExplorerI had to remove 3 trees to get the hybrid up the driveway. It has 14" tires and barely clear the bottom of the driveway
older property shot showing pitch angle and pivot at top of driveway to side of garage. I used to spin a pup around that top tree and practically blow up the transmission on the trailblazer - LantleyNomadWhat is the GVW of the trailer
- PAThwackerExplorerTongue weight: easily 1200lbs, and exludes the half ton majority crowd. Will try to submit the offer tonight, hook up a cummins 3/4, yank it off yard, and forgo to the systems check. My main concerns are going from a use anywhere/easy to tow, hard covered storage, minimal grievance bunk house hybrid(no slide, 3400lb/5000lb) to a 34ft monster superslide(hight, length, weights).
Potential to lose storage at home: sloped or inclined driveway, covered hard winter storage, maneuveralbility, site limitations, and state parks.
- AlbertaNewbieExplorerJump on that and flip it.
