My 2005 expedition xlt 4x4 is rated for 8600. It will not win any races at that weight but has been rock solid for 11 years. 2 batteries, 1 alternator and a set of tires are all I have needed so far. Still has the original brakes although they are scheduled for replacement.

In town mileage is nothing to write home about but I get 19 MPG @75 MPH.
