Was going for a new Wolf Creek, having a horrible time with the dealers not wanting to deal without me being there in person.Anyway, have a friend that works at an RV dealer and they got this camper in today on consignment. It is a one owner, still smells new! Almost perfect shape, been sitting in storage for the last five years. We finalized numbers, I can get this for $13,500. Seems like a great deal, have read great things about this brand and have a friend who owned one for 15 years and loved it. He wanted a slide out so upgraded.Anyway, no leaks or rot. No AC, I don't use it anyway. No oven or microwave.. Anything to watch for? I finalize the deal in the morning.It only has one battery, that sucks. I'd like another but I don't see where it could go! Solar is first on the list. Advice???READ THIS POST!

We sure like our Bigfoot, get a good solar setup an forget about the 2nd battery for awhile. I put a second in ours because we were going to Yosemite one winter and I was afraid I may not have enough power to keep warm in the snow with all the power that they are supposed to use, well I think I used the heater 2 times at night before bed and that was it. These campers are really the true 4 season campers.

Good to hear! Yeah I'm planning on a 200-250 watt system (lots of real estate up there with no AC)and replacing all the lights with LED bulbs. We are going to Yellowstone next year so I'm glad to hear I won't be killing my single battery for the heating.

What year truck are you planning on putting the '07 Bigfoot on? The extra width at the right behind the wheelwell make them an issue for new trucks with tapered boxes. I tried to fit a older one on my 2012 truck and would of needed to raise it almost 6" to clear the rear corners. Too top heavy for me.

2007 Dodge...hopefully we don't have that issue.

On the inside look for water staining around each vent.A small Microwave can be mounted under the cabinets in the kitchen area. Some work will be needed to get a way to hang it. I actually took the lid off the microwave mounted it to the cabinet, then lifted the microwave up and attached it. Been installed there for 10+ years and almost 200,000 miles..We can discuss batteries and chargers later if you get the camper...You need to check the jacks and if electric make sure they work and will lift the camper...Look for Rust on the inner tubes when extended. Electric jacks are expensive so check carefully.Vent tops become brittle when exposed to the sun 24/7 Look for cracks....Not too expensive to replace just the hood nor hard to replace. Doing the whole vent is a chore....Good luck!Jim

I have the same battery problem so I put a battery box in the truck bed with two six volt batteries and tied them into the single battery works great and I now have 320 amp hours' of power.

Yeah first time going through it but have heard of similar experiences. Thanks Jim, I think we are going new with a Wolf Creek but yes, a 2500 will be in our future when I buy a dually someday!!!

Quick update.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH NORTHWEST RV SALES IN SALEM!

Buyer beware!

We tried to buy this camper from them, they did not follow through with their end of the deal. First they informed us we would need 10% down on the loan. This was before we had even done the credit application. That should have been the first and only red flag. Been buying trucks, cars, rv's motorcycles and other toys for the last twenty years, have perfect credit and never once have been required to "put 10% down". Ever.

But my wife really wanted the camper, so I took the day off work the next day and went down to do the loan and get prices for parts. They promised 10% above cost on parts, great. Should have just went to my credit union but wanted to see if the dealer could do better. Has worked in my favor in the past.

They took my application, did not give me prices on parts (parts guy is new and didn't know what a super truss was....red flag number two) I give him the benefit of doubt and give him the actual 'art numbers to make his job simple.

Was told to go home, we will call.Ok, weird I have always bought within 30 minutes and signed papers within the hour. So I leave and figured I would hear later that day...maybe they we busy and backed up.

This was on Monday of last week. We get a call from the salesman on Thursday (who was as frustrated as we were) and he says the finance lady said they need 10% down, even though the camper retailed over 8k higher than agreed upon price. And to top it off, they could not give me prices on parts (no reason given) and the purchase order never had them included! I'm pissed and here is the red flag number 3...even if I secured my own loan.....we couldn't buy the camper. The salesman told us the entire staff was locked out of the lot and "There is some insurance issues that shut the lot down for at least a week".

The salesman told us he thinks they want to unwind the deal as they have two other buyers lined up and agreed to sell us the camper cheaper!

We are friends with the salesman, my wife used to work with him. He said they are shady and he is quitting that lot.

So, sucks but we are going with the Wolf Creek again and Gauranty in Eugene has been awesome to deal with and they are giving us an incredible deal!

Bigfoot was just not meant to be!

I hear ya. It is awesome as we sit here, watching youtube on mods like lights, batteries, and solar as we talk about places we want to camp! She is awesome....and I'm lucky to be with her. :B
