2012 Ram 3500 throwing a P0191 code

Check for a loose wire on the fuel rail pressure sensor. If no dice then it's time to visit your Ram dealer.

You may have a defective sensor.
Also you may have fixed the problem but the system has to go through enough drive cycles to clear the light. It may take 3 or more without the fault being present for the code to go away(light to go out) but it will be stored in the computer.

If the condition has been corrected, the code will disappear usually after 5 key cycles.

I cleared the code, now time will tell if it comes back. I'm thinking this may also be covered under the emissions warranty. It's not 5years old and has less than 100K for mileage.

With 100 miles since I cleared the code, it has not came back. Keep your figured crossed that the problem was the fuel filter.

My 2010 had the same code at around 92,000 miles. Cleared and it kept coming back. Also prevented it from going a regen and plugged my particlate filter. Cost me $700.00 to replace the sensor and they were able to force a regen and clean out the filter...3 days later I traded the POS and bought a new Duramax. Lived happily ever after so far..

Ya what a POS! I can't believe that...... You mean there was something keeping it from re gen, you drove thru the warnings, stuffed the dpf full. Yet the truck only needed a rp sensor and a manual regen?
Doesn't sound like the definition of a pos to me......$150 part and a regen?

2010 gave no warnings about not regenerating. There was a long list of things that caused me to call it a POS. Some of you Dodge boys just don't get it..Very happy I got rid of it. Good luck with yours.

Many of us "Dodge Boys" had similar experiences with other brands before visiting and finding satisfaction at the Mopar lot. No single brand owns exclusive rights to POS, believe me they all share in the creation and existence of the title.

Well after a week of driving and over 300 miles code has not come back. So I would have to say it was the fuel filter that threw the code. I'm happy that was an easy fix.
