2012 Ram 3500

For what it's worth, Dave Smith was identical in pricing to the dollar for 3 of my 4 local dealers.

As for MPG - between 11 and 14 (once, 13.5 a couple of times) around town/highway driving when not towing. When towing between 8.6 and 11 (once).

Truck: 2012 Crew Cab Long Bed 4.10 gears (usually weighing about 9,000 pounds with us in it)
Camper: 42' long and right about 14,000 pounds; 2,300-2,500 in pin weight

All of my MPG numbers are hand calculated for every tank (there's an app for that).

Cummins, I see what you're saying. Maybe I'm playing that game with dealers here in my area! :B

That was what I did to buy the 2001 3500 chev. $400.00 was the savings for me at Dave Smith. Not worth the effort on my purchase but some tell a bigger savings.

The 13's that are out there are getting much better fuel mileage than the 12's. Your call. If you do not drive many miles, the 12 is the way to go. However, more miles, the 13 looks better. Plus, I guarantee that with the improvements in the chassis, and the much better fuel mileage, at trade in time, the 13 will command a much higher value.

2011 HO 4X4 Dually RAM 28K combined load 9.5 hand calc with 3:42 gears up and down I-5. Local and around town 11.5 -12.5. Freeway at 70-75 15.5.

55mph at the slowest on I-5 border to border.

Awesome truck. 13, even better!

Unless you are stealing the truck I would contact Dave Smith in Kellog Idaho and see what a similarly equipped 13 would sell for.

Similar here, my 2010 and my 2012 crew/duallies both averaged 14.5 empty. These are with the 3.73 gears also.

My 12 dually 373 rear has never gotten over 15 over any distance and when towing my 19k fifth wheel gets between 8.5 and 9. Speed and wind do not seem to be much of a factor in the mileage either so I have shut off the lie-o-meter and just enjoy how well the truck tows anything anywhere... great truck
