2013 SRW 3500 HD fifth wheel tongue wt rating

Looking to talk with 2012-2013 Duramax 3500 HD SRW SB 4x4 Crew Cab truck owners. I am trying to determine if the the SRW has enough fifth wheel hitch wt capacity for a prospective fiver.
I have the information for my 02 Duramax 2500 HD 4x4 SB Ext Cab for two passengers, full fuel and fifth wheel hitch: 7040lbs with GVWR of 9200lbs. 9200-7040=2160lbs fifth wheel tongue wt capacity.
I am looking for similar numbers to compare the 3500 HD SRW and Dually fifth wheel hitch capacities.
Thanks
  • Please see my truck and fiver spec in signature. My fiver scaled in at 12280 with pin of 2400. With truck fully loaded for camping with family and gear, firewood etc I had 500 lbs of payload to spare in the truck. The gvwr of my truck is 10,800 lbs.

  • The big change with GM trucks came in 2011.

My weights with my 5th wheel are,

2011 Chev 3500HD Dmax CC standard box SRW LTZ 4X4
Empty weight with me, 1/2 tank fuel, toolbox with 100lbs "stuff" is 8020lbs.

With 5th wheel hooked up, full tank fuel and me and Terry,

    Front axle 4825lbs
    Rear axle 6410lbs
    Trailer axles 12150lbs.
    Pin weight 2850lbs.
These are BC certified weigh scale numbers.

Our 5th wheel is on the heavier side, and we are close to the trucks GVWR of 11500lbs, but with the new frame, suspension and brakes on the 2011 up GM trucks, this one tows our 5th wheel better than the 2006 dually GM Dmax we had before.

:B Now your going to have the DRW fans snappin' at ya'.

I see more one ton SRW trucks out here working for a living now than a few years back.
With the 7000-7050s RAWR and GVWRs ranging from 11600 for GM and 11500 for Ford to the Rams 12400 GVWR they are a very capable truck if a DRW isn't needed.
