Found a screw with this pkg and ecoboost near me with 27,000 miles. Price is $27k. XLT pkg and XTR pkg with rubber floors! :CDecent price? I've been out of the market with regards to prices and it seems decent price wise. Was a lease return from a contractor. Drives nice and really goes with 3.73 gears.

Circumstances are everything. I leased not knowing where our situation would take us. At the time this was our best option. I got the last of the steel trucks for the additional mass and we come out usually 250-300# under payload and rear axle. That is not packing light but just the way we travel. Not unhappy at all the way it turned out but all that said I recently test drove a Ram 2500 6.4. It is the only 2500 I would consider due to the rear coils. I'll see how the situation evolves and go from there.

For comparison sake I have a 14 Screw, 3.5 Ecoboost XLT 6.5 bed. Xlt comes in many configurations. Mine has power driver seat, power pedals, chrome package, chrome steps, 20 inch tires, tailgate step, backup camera, rear power slider window and linex spray in bedliner. Also Max Tow with power tow mirrors and 3.73 E-Locker rear. Gvwr is 7700#. Payload is 1735#. Buyout at 36 month lease end is 26K. Tow a 7700# TT with a tongue weight of 835#. Tows like a baby diesel due to torque at low rpm and the adaptive learning transmission has learned my towing methods and downshifts before I do. Got this truck because DW had 2 spinal surgeries and was in line for a 3rd and this truck is very comfortable. Had an older GMC 2500 with 6.0 and 4.10 gears and the Eco is far superior in all categories. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Mine was very similar, with slightly more payload capacity. I loved the 3.5 Ecoboost, the problem was the lack of payload. With the 835 pounds of tongue weight there isn't much left for people and gear. In my case, even traveling light left me with less than 150 pounds of payload left. If I were in the market again, I'd look for an F150 with the max payload option, that would work great!

I'm leaning more this direction. I thought if I found a 1/2 ton I liked well enough I'd be happy but I still can't get past a 3/4 ton now that I have my Yukon XL 2500. Just a solid vehicle and I like the F250s we have at work. Beat the hell out of them every day and they just take it.

That is a great TV! The Max Tow gets an extra 500 lbs GVWR, 3.73s, real towing mirrors, and IBC. If it's in great shape, negotiate best price, comparing to similar vehicles in your area.

Love mine! The 3.73's do hit the mileage numbers a bit. I've never averaged >20mpg. When in the sweet spot, I can average 19 over a long trip. But...then again...I didn't buy it for efficiency. I bought it to tow, and I don't believe another half ton will do as well.

My HD F150 came with 3.73 gears. It hasn't slowed down on steep grades yet.

Could be good, pull a KBB and NADA on it. Only you can decide if you plan to tow with it, 3:73 gears are not that conducive to much towing, good mileage empty but wouldn't tow much in the hills/mountains. You will get overwhelming amount of opinions on that.

Sounds like a nice truck. Take a look at the door sticker for payload. If you go ahead and get it consider LT tires when the time comes to replace the originals. That engine and the 3.73 has all the power you will need.

I like the 2011-2014s.

Good luck,

3.73s in that truck are perfect for towing. With today's torque and transmissions, 4.10s etc are no longer needed. Not many "mountains" in WI.

You must have missed the part where the engine is the Ecoboost. I had a 2012 with the boosted V6 and 3:73 ratio and it is a pulling beast. I was pulling a 7,500 lb. 5th wheel and it would pull it as good as my 2016 Superduty Powerstroke pulls a 14,000 lb 5th wheel with a 3:55 ratio!

You do know that 3.73 rears is the preferred ratio for towing don't you. and pretty much the lowest gear offered in a off the lot F150. Most come with 3.55s or higher. 3.73 also is the gear for the max tow 150. You can get a 4.10 in that year. IF you could find one. However. the tow rating for the 4.10, is higher than the 3.73 with the same engine. How do I know? I have the Ford towing guide right in front of me.
