2014 Wildwood X-Lite FS 235BH question/opinion

I was wondering if anyone has owned (or does own) a Wildwood X-Light trailer and if so your thoughts on it.

I'm interested in the 235BH but cant find any reviews or opinions on the X-Lite line of trailers. I know this model is very basic but I can get one for cheaper than a comparable used trailer.

As long as you maintain it you will get a lot of years service even out of a entry level camper. Follow the recomended service such as check the sealent on the roof, pack the wheel bearings ect. I own a 2005 Wildwood LE 26 BHSS.

I own a Wildwood X-Lite. I got what I paid for. The one I have was the dealer's loss leader, so it was actually ordered without some of the standard options.

In general it serves it's purpose. I did have a problem with the wrong tires/wheels originally on the unit and after some vocal discussions, I got the issue resolved to my satisfaction, though the replacement tires are now having similar issues.

The only other issue I've had is the wall panel has come unglued in the bathroom next to the shower. We've only used the shower 4-5 times so I don't think the moisture from the shower did it. Probably wasn't glued properly to begin with.

I probably won't buy another one, but it does serve its purpose. We use it for 6-8 weekend trips a year plus a 2 week vacation each summer.

Thanks guys! You really reinforced my thought on the trailer. I'm totally fine with the low end entry concept. It fits my budget and less is often more (won't have as many potential problems since there isn't a lot to them).

I've got my PUP on consignment right now and the dealer has a handful of 2014 X-Lite 235bh trailers in stock from 12-14k depending on options.

I walked through one today with the wife and our 4 year old. We loved the layout. We did notice that storage was limited but there was plenty of room for mods and ideas which I like.

It sure will be nice to not have to pop up anymore and have carry bunch of totes in the truck!

Forest River Wildwood X-Lite does lightweight, entry level, basic trailers very well...and they don't feel or look cheap like some brands of entry lineups do.

You'll note that the interior celings are lower than some, tall folks may bonk their heads on the A/C unit...and the rig is very basic...but has everything you guys need. During he PDI make sure to tell the guy who walks thru the trailer with you of anything needing to be repaired, or anything missing from your "window sticker" as far as options and standards, all the water systems work, the A/C and furnace, etc. Also check the date of manufacture on the tires to make sure they are current.

HOW? After the DOT insignia is your tireโ€™s identification number, which begins with the tireโ€™s manufacturer and plant code where the tire was manufactured (two numbers or letters). The ninth and tenth characters tell the week the tire was manufactured. The final number(s) signifies the year the tire was manufactured. 2 or 3 year old tires are NOT acceptable! Check the spare too.

Best of luck and enjoy!

I don't personally own one, but I looked into them quite a bit and went through many of them at a local dealer. My uncle also owns one and camps with us nearly every weekend in the summer.

I know he likes his trailer, except there is little to no outside storage. He has a quad bunk model.

The few I looked at were great value for the money. Keep in mind they are a lower end trailer, so storage is limited, and some finishes aren't as nice. However I really found that for the money, they offered alot. I felt compared to others in that price range they were a better value. I really like to graphics on the exterior, and the color patterns are nice inside as well. They offer some nice floor plans, and are relatively light weight.

I really looked hard at a 272qbxl... In the end I didn't buy it, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one to someone else based on what I've seen.
