2014 Wind River 250RDSW in the driveway!!!

Well, had the Sunnybrook 26CKS for 11 years. Now for the next 10. Even though the Outdoor RV line is top shelf there are still things to do to get it trip ready as there is any new TT. First off is to remove a thousand stickers that have glue of doom. Then a complete wax job to remove excess silicone sealer along most seals. Re-torque lug nuts. Install new shelf liner. I hope to find some that does not slide with the dishes and wad up in a corner. Put some carpet in the huge storage areas so the plastic storage containers stay put. Then figure out what will go where. Eventually I would like to make a floor for the tongue area but that will take some time. The big issue is the steps are not dog friendly. That is they have slots in them for traction when wet but it also will take a toe nail of my dog if caught wrong. Can't have that. The steps are radius on the front and that makes it even harder to mod. Any suggestions? Besides wraping them with duct tape. The list will continue.

We have our 2011 WindRiver for 3 years now. Very few issues with it and have been very happy with it.

I know that the 2010 year was bad for most of their models as that was the first year that OutdoorRV began manufacturing in the old Fleetwood plant in OR. 2011 year was much better based on feedback from my friends that bought a 2010 and those that got a 2011.

Enjoy you new rig!

That's a bummer to hear. I know that line has not been out too long and there has been many changes in them. I looked around for quite some time and did not hear many bad things about them, mostly good. They might not be built as tough as the Arctic fox and they do cost more than most. Just what issues have you had that have sent you over the edge with it and what will you replace it with? They must be many and big to make you want to take that bath of depreciation.

Hope you have better luck with your WindRiver then i have had. I bought a 2010 WindRiver 250RLS new and have had nothing but problems with it. Will finally be selling it this spring. No more Outdoors RV for me.

The dump pipe for the grey and black tanks is held in place with a cheep piece of metal strap that really adds no strength. Anything hits it going down the hwy and snap, no way to dump the tanks. I am going to make a stronger brace that will also deflect some road debris.
The mud flaps it came with are a good idea and they are so proud of them but they are not big enough to really do any good, I will solve that.
Yes, as with any other RV, the more you look, the more you find.

Had the same thoughts here. The mud flaps could be 1-2" wider for sure. Maybe that would keep some of the road spray off the rear stab jack motor.

As the dump valve is not hanging off the end of the pipe adding weight, I wasn't too worried about the support. Then one of the valves leaked (not sure why) and filled the dump pipe with waste water. That's heavy and the pipe really could use better support. At least the support is not just metal plumbing tape, like our old trailer.

You come up with any mods, do fill us in.

Nice rig....DW and I just purchased a 2014 Timber Ridge 250RDS. Many changes to the Timber Ridge for 2014. Pulled home last week, snowed the next nite, finally melted off yesterday! Interested in your mods, will watch for new postings...

I always thought the little screws holding the propane tanks down seemed to light too.

Starting to do some mods to the Wind River. A few more coat hooks. I had some Aluminum step covers made so the dog can get up and down without loosing a toe nail. Going to make the tongue area floor so blocks and chalks can be stored there. This is my 2nd new TT and both have used sheet metal screws to attach the propane tank mounts. I think this is no way strong enough and will use some bolts through the frame. I would like to add an access door to the storage under the bed for access without lifting the bed up, but later on that. Really this TT comes very well built and laid out so not much in the way of mods is needed. If the front storage area was just a little larger I could fit my Honda 3000 in it but no way.

Called dealer. I am sure all will be fixed OK. just a 45 min tow there. People that have those frame less windows, what do you think of the open-close mecchanisms? Seem a little weak to me.

you lucky devil. My Outdoors RV dealer is on the other side of the continent. They may sell a lot of trailers in Western Canada, and we bought ours in B.C., but there are no dealers out East.

As for all this automation, I'm not really a fan. Just had a problem with a Lippert stab jack motor getting wet and freezing up. And we even have little motors cranking up the Fantastic Fan lids. Sheesh. And none of this is warrantied by Outdoors RV, but by the appliance manufacturer.

As these things break, I'll probably replace them with manual devices. An electric slide-out motor is about all I really need.

First warranty items. Both back window open and close mechanisms are broken and some cosmetic damage where the inside wall wraps from the fireplace to bath. Called dealer. Exactly what Wayne said. CW has the carpet step covers with the radius...they look nice, help stop tracking in and saves a trip to the vet. Congrats on the new camper!

The Wind River 250RDSW is one of their top sellers. This one came with all the options. It has the couch that makes into a comfortable bed. It is only 30 ft B to Ball and just under 7000 pounds. I really had my Sunnybrook dialed in and someone will be getting a great used TT. It's at Neils RV in So Cal. There is so much storage in the Wind River it will be hard to keep the weight down even though I tow with a Ram diesel. The bottom of the TT is fully covered but I can't help wondering how good, or bad, all the wireing and plumbing looks.
BTW brulaz, I spoke to Jim Jones, CEO of Northwood and OutdoorRV at the Pomona show. He said a very large percent of their TT's go to Canada for sale there so they are built for the cold. Their goal is not to be the biggest, just the best.
Now to go measure stuff and make more lists.

Congrats on the Wind River.
We just purchased a Timber Ridge 240RKS a month ago in B.C. and have brought it back to Ontario and now down to South Carolina.
Except for some small issues, we're very happy with it.

As far as I can tell, Outdoors RV makes good trailers.
