- APTExplorerI bought my North Trail new in 2010 and still have it. It has been great for our family with only repairs due to my own mistakes. As mentioned, the value of any 5+ year old RV is more reliant on how well it was maintained than any initial quality. Search for a couple Pre-Delivery Inspection guides and checklists or hire someone to do it for you.
- afidelExplorer IIHire a mobile RV tech to do a pre-purchase inspection before handing over any money to the seller.
- SkibaneExplorer IIIn 2010, Heartland was purchased by Thor Industries, one of the big RV conglomerates.
With the possible exception of Airstream, nothing made by any Thor subsidiary is exactly world-renowned for build quality - although the quality in 2016 was probably better than it currently is. - Grit_dogNavigatorHave a 2017 Heartland, different model. Quality seems decent, about like Most campers.
Ours was basically new last year when we bought it. Used once, in 4 years, lol. So a few minor things.
But like mentioned above, damage or leaks and non working “stuff” is what to look for. - LwiddisExplorer IIDo a complete inspection from roof to undercarriage…get up on the roof and under the trailer. Run every system. Check tire manufacturer dates.
- midnightsadieExplorer IIon any rv look for signs of water leaks doesn,t matter the year look in all the ceilings for stains. find even a little one ,run
