You can also mix tread widths and types as long as overall height is the same. You can go with a wider less aggressive front tire to keep down tread noise yet give you good flotation and use skinnier more aggressive rear tires to give you more bite. In this case, your spare should match what you choose for the rear.

Basically need traction tires for the forest service roads we camp off of. They can get pretty mucky in the winter. I'm not mudbogging but 4wheel drive with the camper on and trailer hooked up happen often in the winter.
Need flat protection from the rocks they like to use.
Need the the mountain snowflake for winter driving over the passes.
So Duratracs fit the bill on my 2011 Dually perfectly. Will do the same or new and improved BFG KOA AT. Basically both tires work great for what I need. Will be a pricing and sizing choice in the end.
