Well, I thought I was done in January 2016 when I bought a new Ram 2500 with 6.7 Cummins.
I guess the recent Baton Rouge flooding has changed my plans. The truck, which was parked in my garage, was in 39 inches of water and is a total loss. Good news is I was well insured on the house and vehicles. But I need to buy a new truck.
In January I really considered the gas heavy duties before deciding on the diesel. My question is this - Does the new 2017 model year heavy duty gas trucks offer any real improvements over 2016?
Looks like the gas engines are unchanged as far as I can tell. Same on transmissions, except the Ford F250 has a gas specific transmission. Some rumors on the GM 6.0 having an 8 or 10 speed transmission. I just don't have the time to research like I normally would therefore I hope to leverage your knowledge. Thanks for any information. FYI - My fifth wheel ready to camp is about 12,500 lbs.
We have a winter friend that bought a new Ford and 4.30 rear to pull back this winter a new fifthwheel. he has had 350 and a 450 ford but bought a smaller fifth. He has the 6.2 gas engine. I will be asking him how it is but I know he will be happy. I am old and do not understand a pulling truck with 8 to 10 gears and a gas engine. I had an 8.1 gas and it was very good with the 4:10 but not as good as the duramax. chevman

The F250 and F350 with the 6.2 gas gets a 25 ft lb increase in torque and the F250 gets a gas only transmission, the Supper Duty also gets the all aluminum body.
