^^^I wonder how long the cooling system is going to keep the sweat of those 505 ponies when they have to pull hard up a long steep grade.

Spend some time out at elevation where the grades are steep and you might feel different. I would welcome more power than the 350/800 my truck has when pulling through the Rockies.

Remember when the 1989 Dodge Cummins with 3 speed trans and a whopping 160 Hp/400ft/lbs was the cats meow?

Right??
But a couple turns of the fuel screw and some 3k springs would wipe the sleep out of its eyes!

And destroy the transmissionโ€ฆ.

If I recall that tranny was a 727 that was nearly indestructible

I hope the rumor proves to be, but it reminds me of when TFL was reporting ford will be first to break 1000 lbft of torque and 500 hp... Ram beat them to 1000 lb ft and now GM might beat them to 500 ponies.

Good to hear from ya'.

Interesting. Means maybe higher axle ratings = more money payloads. Sounds like GM is getting serious in the commercial LDT market. They have taken the back seat to the Ram and Ford SD for years now in that market. I know'22 GM 3500 drw move up to 10500 rawr has made a bit of "about time" comments from GM fans on those type of websites.

They have try to do something, as they getting their behind kicked in the sales arena. Ugly front end and fake Allison may not be helping them. Real Allison's sold the product for many years.

It is just a matter of time until the 500 HP barrier is broken. I am sure it won't take Ford long to match/best that number.

And I truly laugh out loud at those that lament the "fake Allison" transmission. I'd be willing to venture a guess that the vast majority of those who are interested in the truck have no idea (or probably care) how accurate the name brand of the transmission is. The fact is, it performs well, which is what really matters.
