Thanks IdaD. I focused on the GVWR because it has legal significance even here in minimally regulated Alabama. I've got a spreadsheet that calculates all the axle, tongue, and vehicle loads for the different trip loadings for our rig so I watch all those numbers.
I agree the payload door sticker was meaningless. I'm even more confused that it did not match the scale weight/GVWR calculation, either with or without fuel.
I really hated to part with the Tundra but I got a call today from the guy that bought it off the chevy dealer lot (it stayed there 4 days). He was tickled to death and wanted to know about all the modifications and switches I added. I'm sending him a care package tomorrow with some spare parts and the window sticker from original purpose. There's nothing like having the original window sticker. Sounds like it got a good home.
