At my job we had both an 05 and 07 Ford’s with the 6.0 diesel. Neither one of them ever had the heads off in over 300,000 miles, however just about everything else had to be replaced numerous times. FICMs, EGR coolers, injectors, more injectors, variable vane turbos, and a few more injectors after that. Keep in mind these trucks were driven by five or 10 guys who didn’t give a darn about preserving the truck. Many mornings I would come in and find the gas cap missing after a rainy night, and our utility bodies position the fuel filler straight up ready to catch water and road dirt, so probably half the injectors went bad due to abuse.
