- Well, I posted a similar request when my 95 Sportsmen dumped a bearing.
I found there was no real standard and the basic info I got was to pull a bearing and grab the numbers off it.
There are so many different bearings available that really, the best thing to do is pull one and read the numbers on the inner race.
Thats what I did, and I went in to a bearing place and bought 4 sets of them, based on the info off the old bearing. - TNRIVERSIDEExplorer

I would agree with most of the above statement. My addition is that I would use the numbers on the ID and the OD races. The other option is to accurately measure the bearing. As with most products you get what you pay for. Cheep bearings from overseas are cheep bearings. - JonnygsxExplorer

Do most places carry a lot of bearings in stock? Im just hoping I dont have to pull one and then order the set. Would like normal auto parts stores carry the bearings? Jonnygsx wrote:

I went to a specialized place that stocks bearings, amongst other things.
All of mine were in stock to pick up there and then.- SlownsyExplorerNot auto parts stores but trailer parts and manufactures or bearing supplies.
Frank. - JIMNLINExplorer IIII carried a one wheel set of bearings and seal for a new 1984 26' 5er for 8 years and 70000 miles. I was assured they were correct for my trailer.
The last year we had the trailer the left side wheel on the front axle started leaking bearing grease. Pull the hub and found a blown seal with blue bearing and races. The other bearings and seals were fine.
The set I carried wasn't correct. Neither bearing sets or the seal was correct.
Now, .... on any new or used trailer the first thing I do is pull the hubs and check things out to my satisfaction AND write down bearing and seal brands and numbers and staple it with the owners manual or the trailers registration papers. I don't carry bearings any more as I do all my own maintenance. Years ago I carried spares of this and that but today items are available just about any where.
Just about any small town parts store carries trailer bearings and seals...around here anyway. - Glendale_290Explorer

I did the same thing as above and had no problem getting bearings. I bought 4 sets and a spare. I kept the package for easy future reference. As most of them are made off shore it can get tough to locate easily.....a bearing place is the best bet to get them !
