AC working but shutting off

So a friend has an airsteam trailer. He put on a brand new AC unit. Sorry, I don't know the brand. When he turns on the AC it will run for a short amount of time and then shut down without coming back on. He has the thermostat on the wall that can be set by temperature. We checked the power coming in to the trailer and it seems fine. Where would you start looking to solve the problem?

Some ACs have a restart delay circuit to prevent compressor damage. Check the documentation that came with the AC or wait 2-5 minutes before trying to restart.

Sounds like a thermostat issue to me.

did the ac come with a new thermostat? if not I think I would see if I could bypass the thermostat and see if it will cool that way
