Adding roof AC to camper

I'm looking at adding something like a Mach 8 9000btu unit to my Snowbird/Snow River 8-1/2 ft 1 slide camper.

Will my little phart Honda 2000i generator run the 9000btu type unit?

If yes, to what altitude?

As hedge said, consider getting a powersaver model. My Honda 2K does great with it. Unless height is a concern. I'm Not sure they make a PS in the 8" model.

I installed the Mach 8 on mine, it's nice in that it's only 8" off the roof, but it's loud. The Honda runs it but it works it pretty hard.

You can't go directly by the btu ratings, go by the amp ratings as I believe there is an 11k that actually has a lower amp draw.

We installed a 9000 to our Summerwind as an aftermarket install, our 2000i starts and runs ours with no problem.

The Honda should have no problem starting and running that size of AC - even without mods although those would certainly not hurt.

Get a micro air easy start. This is a good product and way better then the taughted soft start caps out on the market..
