Am I losing my seat?

I saw this somewhere, and thought that it might be a way to gain some additional cargo space. Was wondering if anyone else has gone this route, and if so, what were the benefits and/or pitfalls that were experienced?

Am considering the removal of all, or at least most of the 60/40 rear seat assembly in my '09 F350 CC, and replacing it with a deck of some sort. Don't currently have a dog, but am sure that we will in the near future. And like others, would like to have the space to carry extras that the Lance 915 doesn't have dedicated room to haul.

Thanks!

Did either of you have to worry about any sensors?

I've removed mine. There are 3 photos in my interview on Truck Camper Magazine. Scroll down maybe 2/3 of the way thru the article. I've got more pics than those. PM me if you want to see them.

In my Dodge, the back seats fold up and a flat deck folds out. It is great for hauling large items that might be too fragile for the truck bed. It also makes a nice platform for a dog bed. This is a great feature without losing the seats when I want them. We don't take back seat passengers very often. You might consider only decking out the 60% seat so you could still take a rider if you wanted to.

Yes. I removed the back seat assembly and stored it in my shop.

The space it opened up is very valuable. . .enough to carry two inflatable kayaks and gear.
Whatever shelf space you build in should be easily removable so that the space can be reconfigured for different needs.
