After two days, watching both the fridge and the freezer with tracking thermometers, the fridge maintained temps approx 34 and the freezer in single digits. There was a 2 degree swing total from Sunday afternoon to Wed night.
Take a vacation to the SW US in July. 100+ degree daytime temps. You will see the need.
So... I fail to see the need
