Put old sofa or refrigerator at curb with "FREE" sign and it will sit there for months.
Change the sign to "$ 50" and it will get stolen first night.
Years ago I did some gardening for neighbor in the block.
She had 1969 Ford LTD sitting dead under the tree.
I liked the style and wanted to restore it.
She would give it for free, but being Canadian-born she made a contract for $1. - NRALIFRExplorer

That’s a good idea. I have a full set of filters (air, fuel, oil) for the 2008-2010 6.4 Powerstroke that I’ve been trying to Craigslist for over a year. Not even a nibble and I’ve got them priced right. I’m like you, I’d rather give them away than toss them in the garbage. I think I’ll throw them in the trunk of my car and look for someone driving one.
