Anyone using this battery disconnect switch in their TOAD?

I bought this disconnect switch for my new Jeep. The way it works is you back off the bolt with the green knob and that separates the lower section from the top section. But the weight of the lower section then bring the knob down and it makes contact with the upper section that is connected to the battery. Because of this I am wondering if this switch is only good for storage of a vehicle and not one bouncing down the road while being towed. I dont want the battery connection to made and broken every time I hit a bump.

Anyone using this thing and what is your thoughts? Thanks,

Yes I tried one, it would not stay connected while not being towed. about once a month the jeep would not crank, go wiggle it, and tighten the knob, and start the jeep, reset the clock.
  • It looked fool proof until I read your description. Harbor Freight was selling cut off switch's which I bought two. Drove me crazy til I diagnossed the switch as my problem. Sorry no experience with that switch.
  • I had something similar but when you loosened that knob, it separated in two parts.
    bumpy
  • It's not good on a vehicle that needs to have a full constance disconnect when being towed (such as the Ford Focus) even a slight momentary connection at the switch can cause issues. And bouncing/pot holes on the road this switch will close at times making a short term connection.

    Thank you!
