Joe814, thanks for the AF wiring, it's exact and color correct as well. I tested out and labeled my lines, I'm now converted over to the big 7 pin type plug.

Good point about leaving the bumper free for a trailer, you can tell I've never towed! If I were to have added a bed connection, the in-line kits connect at the rear bumper anyway, so no shorter run, just another line break/connection. I'd never splice into a new truck harness.

I found the AF wiring diagram for the 6 pin square plug. May be helpful.

The front of the bed connection makes for a shorter wire run in the charge line. It's also cleaner and leaves the bumper plug free for a trailer.

Thanks for the info and the links. I have enough now to figure it out. I've seen the adapter kits for the inside of the bed plug. I've just never seen the advantage of the inside bed plug and the front of TC plug. I could never reach in the bed to make the connection, and once the TC is in place, there's no access to it. I'm just going to try the rear bumper connector this time.

Same here. I got an OEM extension/ancillary harness from Steve White Motors online, for Ram 2500/3500, then drilled a hole to size in side of truck bed, where you want the plug, dab of silicon sealer, and then ready to free up rear outlet for trailer.

It has 10 ft of cable and you just drill a hole in the inside of the bed. etrailer has these. The AF plug has a short cable that plugs in to the camper and the truck. This leaves the bumper plug free to use if you need to plug in a trailer or toad.
