For those of you who have installed the RDS fuel tank using a Solenoid valve, which solenoid valve did you use and where did you mount it?
Thanks,

Can't comment directly, but I have an RDS tank, installed with the RDS gravity flow kit using 3/8 inch line and no solenoid. It takes a long time to transfer 30 gallons of diesel thru that 3/8 inch line.

During those times when I've transferred fuel while driving, it WILL keep up with fuel consumption as I tow, but I generally transfer fuel overnight when I'm finished towing just because it does take so long.

Brewurown - Looks like you used a slightly smaller line. Will it flow enough fuel to keep up with fuel consumption while towing ?

The fuel line that came with my gravity flow kit was 5/16 so I could not use 1/4 nipples and I could not find 5/16 nipples so I went with 3/8. I was concerned about the speed of fuel flow but I made 3 trips to FL and back to NC. Starting with full tanks and the valve energized my fuel gauge never comes off the full mark until the aux tank is empty.

I install a valve under the bed. Installed a toggle switch on the dash connected to the switched power. I didn't want the valve on if I should forget to turn off the switch. It's been installed now for almost a year, made 3 trips between NC and FL with no problems. I used this valve:

Could I ask why you chose a 1/4" ported valve? The RDS kit is 3/8" tubing and fittings. Did you support the valve or just let the hose carry the load? I have a new Ford SD with upfitter switches so wiring should be a piece of cake.

I used 3/8 nipples, the fuel line is 5/16. I used cooking oil to lube the hose and nipples and the hose slipped on nicely. I just left the fuel line support most of the weight but also used wire ties for extra support.
