back up camera

2015 Ford F150. I bought a back up camera.

What is the best way to run the wire bundle inside the truck?

There is a grommet where the hood release cable goes through the firewall but it is super tight and I don't want to wreck it trying modify the grommet in that area.

I could run the wire up from underneath the truck into the cabin at the drivers side a pillar area. It would run up and over the weatherstripping. With that method I worry about getting noise or water in the cabin.

What are my other options for neatly and efficiently bringing the wire bundle into the cabin?

Thanks.
  • I ran my wires all the to engine area. found a grommet I firewall and ran it there. tucked it neatly behind carpet
  • There should be a grommet between the bed and cab.
  • I wouldn't use the weather stripping idea. As I did that on our 2006 mega can and found it leaking.

What I did recently was I removed the flooring and found a spot where I could drill through at an angle and add a grommet there to keep the moisture down and out. Haven't had any issues with it and since the wire lays flat no marks in the carpet. I seal around the outside just incase.

Last two trucks have done this and no issues.
