I drilled two holes in each my batt boxes... Otherwise when it rains they fill up pretty high with water...

Drill the holes. Just make sure you remove the battery first.

Yep, drill some drain holes.

I've had the same issue. I just let the water get in. Once year I take them out and clean connections, etc. and drain it then.
I'd rather not have holes in the bottom that might let corrosive liquid randomly come out and fly back against something on the TT.
During winter storage, I put a board over the tops of them so rain doesn't get in.

I’ve had this problem in two battery boxes. I just flipper them over and drilled holes. Solved the problem.

I had a battery box with small vents on the top, where water could get in. But why they had vents at all was the great question - it wasn't a sealed box by any means, and plenty of room around where the cables when in, even around the edge of the lid. I just sealed the top vents up with caulk.

Battery box is supposed to keep the corrosive stuff in - I wouldn't drill drainholes.

Check the box on your tow vehicle if concerned about corrosive stuff.

I don't understand why those boxes don't come with weep holes.

Every so often this same post comes up, and the answer is everyone drills holes in them.

Years ago there were two types of boxes, the ones with top vents and closed bottoms were for marine use. The opposite type was for outdoor use such as RV’s. Since the end users didn’t have a clue, the correct boxes ceased production.

Drill drain holes where they are away from the frame and seal the vent holes.
