Battery box install in Palomino

I recently bought a 2000 Palomino Bronco truck bed pop up camper and I do not like the fact that the battery has to fit through the little cubby hole and be outside the camper during cold weather. Plus it's a pain in the butt to hook it up each time the camper is put back on the truck. I would like to mount a vented battery box in the space where the water tank resides and vent it out the front of the camper. This would position the battery in a more convenient location in close proximity to the converter. The wires could be easily rerouted fro outside the camper to the inside. Has anyone done this? Are there any unforeseen problems? How are the new campers configured?
Thanks for any help in advance.

Like Hedge said, go AGM ventless. In my case I already had a deep cycle that was new so I just added another. Venting kits are available on line and at RV Wholesalers.

I actually have more room under the kickout now (with 2 batteries) that I had with the blow moulded battery box that is at the landfill now.

If you are at all handy with a circular saw and can cut straight, no big deal. I used cam over latches for the lid that came from Lowes as did the adhesive backed foam seal tape.

In as much as I have a new one (2014-15), my battery(s) are under the front inside kickup where the FW tank and electricals are from the factory.

That little 'cubby' is called a wheelhouse access door and is really meant for storing items between the side of thew truck bed and the camper, I store my chainsaw and shovel in there and my chainswaw gas and oil in Rotapax containers (no leak, no fumes).

Never knew the battery on earlier Palomino's were outside, news to me.

Mine came with a single Group 24 in a plastic battery box which I canned and built a new one from 3/4" plywood with foam seals and vents and installed 2 group 24 deep cycle batteries wired in parallel. My opinion is, one battery isn't sufficient in any TC.

how about going to AGM so you don't need a vent and can put it almost anywhere?
